Granite Cookware in Egypt: A Practical Buying Guide

2026-08-14

Granite cookware is aluminum cookware finished with a speckled non-stick coating. Quality differs widely between products that look similar on a shelf. Here is what to check, based on how we build cookware at our factory in 6th of October City.

1. Aluminium purity

The base metal matters. Rosetta presses its cookware from 99.5% pure aluminium. Purer aluminium is the starting point for consistent forming and finishing.

2. Wall thickness

Wall thickness is the clearest spec to compare. Our range runs from 1mm to 4mm: thinner walls make lighter, faster-heating pans at a lower price point, while thicker walls make sturdier pieces that hold heat better. A thickness figure printed on the product or its listing is a good sign; if a seller cannot tell you the thickness, be careful.

3. The coating

Look for an even, well-bonded granite coating with no thin patches around rivets and edges. Coating condition determines how long the pan stays non-stick, together with how you treat it. We cover the care side in our granite care guide.

4. Handles and lids

Bakelite handles stay cooler than bare metal. On lids you will generally choose between stainless steel and granite-coated aluminium; both exist in the Rosetta range, and the choice is preference rather than performance.

5. Who made it

Factory-made cookware from a certified plant is traceable. Rosetta production runs under ISO 9001:2015 quality management and ISO 14001:2015 environmental management in Giza, Egypt.
